Dr. Baillie is an emeritus cardiologist who worked for many years here in Sydney. He himself is a very fit man, and an accomplished runner. (When I first started running in the mid-eighties he was one of the top runners in CBRR races)
Jacques, along with his wife Micheline Guillot, has been the main driving force behind Velo Cape Breton since its inception back in 2004. VCB quickly grew to be the largest bicycle club east of Quebec, and a respected voice in promoting a culture of "cyclism" here in NS.
Jacques has recently turned 70 but continues to be an active cyclist, and through his work continues to inspire a new generation of cyclists here in CB.
You can join Jacques, Micheline, and I this Saturday at the CB Farmer's Market to have your bike checked (for free!) for the summer cycling season which is now upon us, and to find out more about rides and courses offered through VeloCB. Remember to visit www.velocapebreton.ca, which you can find under "bike" above
