Congrats to everyone who finished, but especially to you first timers. I still remember how intimidating it was toeing the start line on the beach in my first triathlon 25 years ago. It takes a lot of courage to start, so again congratulations. I sincerely hope you become as addicted as I did, and that the sport adds as much to your life as it has to mine.
Big congratulations go to Julie Curwin and Allan MacKenzie, winners of the sprint tri. Tim Brooks was right there in the mix this year as well, with a great swim to get him started. Corey Deveaux crushed the olympic distance with a great race. He, Allan, and John MacKinnon are looking great for Ironman Lake Placid in 3 weeks' time. Micheline McWhirter was the only female brave enough to take on this hilly olympic distance race, and schooled most of the boys. Congrats to her as well.
2 weeks to Guysborough Tri. With the cancellation (hiatus we hope) of Port Hood this year, Guysborough is the only other tri of the season in our neck-of-the-woods. Don't miss it! How many other triathlons in the world start and finish at a brew pub? It's almost too good to be true. Hope to see you all there!
